L.Schrum Furniture

NAVIGATE:
Black & Tan

Imagine a chair that is seemingly simple one
moment and utterly complicated the next.
Devoid of right angles and straight lines, this
chair is a study of curves and compound planes
that intersect, float over, and join into one
another. The result is a solid wood chair with a
surprising amount of spring. The cork seat
creates a striking contrast to the black frame,
adding warmth and softness to a sleek and
sexy structure.

Whitney

If aspects of this piece of furniture look familiar,
you have probably encountered Marcel Breuer’s
Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.
Intrigued, simultaneously, by the starkness of its
granite exterior and its quirky solutions to allow
for natural light, I designed a furniture object that
I hope, captures the soul of its inspiration.

Foyer Bench

Clean lines, soft curves and subtle features make
this bench an attractive seating solution for
almost any room. Simple and elegant from the
front, the back view introduces a distinctive
element, making it just as appealing to use in
the middle of the room as against a wall.

A Bedside Table

Ideally suited as a side table in a living room,
this elegant table is equally at home in the
bedroom as a bedside table. Drawer
construction includes hand-cut dovetails
and a hand-carved ebony pull.

Stackables

Whether you are looking for an attractive étagère,
a sophisticated coffee table or a series of unique
occasional tables, this series of three stackable
tables can be used for a variety of functions.
Each glass surface nestles neatly between curved
aprons, while resting upon the woven stretchers.
